What Vitality Travel covers

Vitality Travel is Discovery Bank's integrated travel booking platform that allows eligible members to book flights, accommodation and car hire in one place. The platform combines Vitality Health and Vitality Money rewards to provide personalised travel discounts across a range of travel products.

Members can book local and international flights through the Discovery Bank app or the Vitality Travel booking platform accessed through Discovery Bank online banking. Flight discounts range from 10% to 75%, depending on the member's Vitality Health rewards, Vitality Money rewards, qualifying Discovery Bank product and qualifying card spend.

Flight discounts apply to the discountable portion of the booking, including the base fare and fuel surcharges (YQ tax). Members can use their personalised discount on six one-way (or three return) local flights per calendar year and two one-way (or one return) regional or international flights per calendar year. Once those allocations have been used, a flat 10% discount applies on eligible flight bookings for the remainder of the calendar year.

Vitality Travel also offers discounts of between 10% and 25% on accommodation and car hire bookings. Members can view available options, compare prices and complete their bookings through the same travel platform.

Eligible Discovery Bank clients can also use Ðiscovery Miles towards flight bookings. Flights can be paid for using a Discovery Bank card, Ðiscovery Miles or a combination of both.

Qualifying Discovery Bank clients may also qualify for international travel insurance when eligible international travel is paid for using a Discovery Bank card or Ðiscovery Miles, subject to the applicable policy requirements and benefit rules.

What you need in place before you book

To access Vitality Travel, you need a qualifying Discovery Bank product with Vitality Money. Qualifying products include a Discovery Bank Transaction Account, Credit Card Account, Suite or a Ðiscovery Account. A savings account on its own does not qualify for access to the Vitality Travel platform.

Once you have a qualifying product, you can access Vitality Travel through the Discovery Bank app for flight bookings, or through the Vitality Travel platform available via Discovery Bank online banking for flights, accommodation and car hire.

If you're already a Discovery Bank client, the easiest way to check your eligibility is through the Discovery Bank app. Members who do not yet have a qualifying Discovery Bank product can choose from a range of Discovery Bank transaction accounts, credit cards, suites or the Ðiscovery Account with zero monthly fees.

Your travel discounts are personalised and depend on several factors, including your Vitality Health rewards, Vitality Money rewards, qualifying Discovery Bank product, card colour and qualifying card spend. You can view your personalised travel discounts directly in the Discovery Bank app under the Travel Rewards section.

Members who have completed a Vitality Health Check and Vitality Age assessment can qualify for up to 25% off through the Vitality Health component of the benefit. Discovery Bank clients can qualify for additional discounts of up to 50% through Vitality Money, which means eligible members can receive a combined discount of up to 75% on qualifying flight bookings.

What else does Vitality Travel discount?

While flights are often the most visible part of the benefit, Vitality Travel extends beyond airfare and gives eligible members access to discounts across several parts of the travel journey.

Members can receive between 10% and 25% off accommodation and car hire bookings through Vitality Travel. These discounts are personalised and depend on the combination of Vitality Health rewards, Vitality Money rewards, qualifying Discovery Bank products and other applicable requirements.

Accommodation bookings are available through the Vitality Travel platform, giving members access to discounted holiday accommodation as well as a broader range of travel options. This allows members to plan and book more of their trip through a single platform rather than managing separate booking channels.

Car hire discounts are available on eligible bookings and can be accessed alongside flight and accommodation bookings through the same travel platform. This makes it easier to coordinate different elements of a trip in one place.

Eligible Discovery Bank clients can also use Ðiscovery Miles towards travel bookings. Flights can be paid for using a Discovery Bank card, Ðiscovery Miles or a combination of both, giving members flexibility in how they fund their travel.

Setting up a Vitality Travel flight bookings

Once you have a qualifying Discovery Bank product with Vitality Money, booking a flight through Vitality Travel is straightforward.

To book through the Discovery Bank app, log in and navigate to Transact > Travel > Flights. From there, enter your destination, travel dates and passenger details. You can then search, filter and sort available flight options by airline, cabin class, fare type, stops and travel times.

Your personalised travel discounts are automatically applied to qualifying flights during the booking process. Once you have selected your preferred flight, you can pay using a Discovery Bank card, Ðiscovery Miles or a combination of both.

Members who prefer to book through a desktop can access Vitality Travel through Discovery Bank online banking. After logging in and completing the required authentication steps, select Travel or navigate to the Travel rewards section and choose Book now. From there, you can book flights, accommodation and car hire through the integrated platform.

Before confirming a booking, it is worth checking your current personalised travel discount and any applicable booking conditions. Your available discount may depend on factors such as your Vitality Health rewards, Vitality Money rewards, qualifying Discovery Bank product and qualifying card spend.

Bookings made closer to departure receive the applicable base discount.
